Level 2 Finance Apprentice

The role of the Finance Apprentice is to support the Finance team with a range of tasks, by providing effective and proactive support to the team.


THE APPRENTICESHIP
General Induction > Generic Skills > Specific Skills > Work based Learning

  • Classroom style learning
  • Cash processing and reconciliation
  • Invoice processing and posting
  • General correspondence enquiry responses
  • Basic credit control
  • Basic KPI Analysis
  • Registering of invoices input of invoice number, date, purchase order, net, and vat values
  • Clearing of invoices against purchase orders
  • Putting invoices into query price queries, goods not booked in, booking in queries.
  • Clearing of invoices that have been in query.
  • Analyse costs against budget and speaking with department heads.
  • Reviewing suppliers statutory accounts for due diligence use
  • Counting and reconciling petty cash monthly
  • Analysing gas and electric consumption
  • Posting of bank transactions
  • Review and reconcile certificates of shipment.
  • Practical task and assessments
  • Team building exercises and challenges
  • Manual handling
  • Attend a weekly day release and successfully complete the Level 2 Finance Apprenticeship programme

SKILLS & QUALITIES


To be considered for the Apprenticeship Scheme you must be either a 2023 school leaver or aged between 16-19, have achieved grade 5 or above in English and Math, and successfully pass an assessment with our onsite Swift Academy.


  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programmes (Excel, Word etc).
  • Strong verbal & written communication & reporting skills.
  • Ability to check/proofread.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, and confident team member.
  • Meet your Health & Safety responsibilities as defined in the Health & Safety Policy.
