Description

The post holder will be responsible for working with Procurement to Identify and research potential new suppliers, products and services to meet Trust goals.

Assesses total costs of company purchases.

Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels, they will be a SME in their area and be able to deliver guidance and suggestions to a wider audience.


Implementing processes and ensuring these are adopted and followed to allow the Trust to gain value for money during any procurement exercise irrespective of the overall value.

This will be achieved through effective management of suppliers and consistent and comprehensive asset processes/records.

To ensure that all Requests are dealt with in a timely manner and within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).


Adhere to security measures in respect of IT equipment for the protection of the Trust IT service from hackers, computer viruses and any other such assaults.


Fully understand and advocate the use of ITIL principles such as Change Management, Incident Management, Demand Management, Problem Management Service Catalogue Management and Service Level Agreement Management in accordance to the local policies and procedures.

A basic understanding of reporting in SCCM and SQL.

Identify impact of service issues to Trust operations and react accordingly.

Make decisions on own work priorities in accordance with general policy guidelines and management direction


Planning and communicating to the Asset Manager budget spend for maintenance related services such as Desktop Support services running costs.


Working with the Procurement teams to Develop and implement plans to achieve value for money through use of bulk buying by analysing trends, identifying appropriate solutions and negotiating with suppliers.


The individual must be prepared to travel, possibly with equipment, to various locations at short notice and should, therefore, have a Full UK Driving Licence.


Any other duties as reasonably required by the Asset Manager, Digital Services Manager, Head of Digital Services and/or Head of Digital Operations.

Basic budgetary management for Digital Services cost centres in which requisitions are raised against liaising with the budget holder/owner to keep an accurate track of expenditure on a regularly basis.

This will involve having delegated budget rights to approve requisitions on Digital Service cost centres for a value appropriate to the role.

Reporting these routinely to senior managers as per their schedule/request.


This is a key position within the Hospital's Information Technology Directorate requiring a dedicated self-motivated individual who can combine good technical skills with excellent communication skills.

The post holder will manage and oversee the customer experience as directed by the Head of Digital Operations.

This will involve reviewing current experience and improving where necessary by implementing processes/procedures alongside other support functions within Digital Services.
