The Company

Nigel Wright are delighted to be partnering with a multi-site industrial engineering business in their search for a new Head of Bids

The Role


Reporting into the Sales and Bids Director, the HoB will hold overall responsibility for the full bidding department, people and processes, and all bidding activity.

The HoB will analyse incoming bid opportunities and delegate workload, own the process including all costings data and documentation, and create winning bids in line with the client expectations.

The HoB will safeguard the business by ensuring all processes are strictly adhered to. Key role responsibilities are;

  • Hold overall responsibility for the bidding department, manage Bid Managers and Engineers to ensure all bids are created in a timely manner
  • Ensure all bids are performed in accordance with company expectations
  • Track all leads on company trackers
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships in bid and sales teams
  • Attend customer meetings
The Person

  • Degree qualified in a technical or engineering discipline
  • Understanding of heavy engineering bid management
  • Able to work ion a high volume environment, adaptable and able to prioritise
  • Demonstrable experience in creating documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Excellent people management and delegation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Salary and Working Arrangement

This role has a competitive package with a bonus structure and car allowance.
