Wattbike is an exciting and innovative business, based in West Bridgford, Nottingham with a big future. We develop world-class indoor smart bikes and trainers. We're looking for a Head of Operations to join us.


Wattbike is chosen by the biggest sports teams and athletes across the Premier League, NFL, national rugby teams and more, as well as thousands of everyday Wattbikers at home.

to improve their health and fitness progression.


The Role
This role is initially a contract for 3-6 months.


Reporting to the CFO, the mission of our Head of Operations is to deliver the Wattbike business plan through the strategic management of our global planning, purchasing, servicing, quality, Health & Safety, warehousing and distribution of finished bikes, accessories and spare parts.


You will work to develop close working relationships with our manufacturing partner to ensure the effective and efficient production of current and future product lines.

You will drive continuous improvement to create seamless on time and in full execution.

You'll be adept at nurturing effective internal partnerships also (with the likes of finance and sales), being a key partner to the business and building cross functional alignment including on stock management and S&OP.

You'll be a member of our HODs (Heads of Department) management team and specifically will also lead:


  • Service centre which repair, maintain and refurbish bikes of all ages

Internal Delivery Team which take responsibility for delivery and collection of new, repaired and refurbished assembled bikes

Service Manager which ensures the network of 10 UK wide service agents remain on track providing quality service to Wattbike customers, also providing training and associated materials for global education

Transition Centre which provides QC facility and assembly options

The Head Of Operations takes responsibility for nurturing growth, capability and the retention of their team.


Requirements:


Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Planning and Operational Execution

  • Ownership of Wattbike's Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP) to ensure demand plans, supply plans and desired inventory levels are all synchronised. This will cover finished goods, accessories and spare parts.
  • Management of the purchasing process in line with the agreed S&OP and budget plans.
  • Proactive management of, and the development of robust relationships with suppliers, logistics partners and 3PL service providers ensuring on target inventory accuracy.
  • Lead and develop the inbound and outbound international logistics processes to the highest levels in terms of cost, quality and timeliness. This includes direct deliveries to distributors worldwide as well as shipments to Wattbike's 3PL service providers.
  • Establish and deliver against a series of supply chain metrics and KPIs to ensure continuous highperformance levels.
  • Work as the operations lead within product or territory launches in line with business strategy which includes strong focus on new product and markets.
  • Work crossfunctionally to facilitate S&OP, directship to markets and Order Book Review processes (especially with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams).

2. Leadership

  • Demonstrate leadership of your direct reports and wider teams across the business; nurture passionate and high performing, crossfunctional teams, role modelling collaboration and innovation; build a great working culture both in facetoface and remote work.
  • Create and disseminate exciting and challenging annual objectives for your teams that align to our strategic business plan.
  • Champion personal and professional development within your team, facilitating continuous feedback and recognition; promote and encourage open discussion around wellbeing; and support team members to work safely and productively.

3. Technology & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across business systems and processes.
  • Embed technology and automation across operations, including the expansion of MS Dynamics as a crossfunctional planning and data platform.

To be successful in this role, you'll be:

  • Experience with strategic supply chain operations and planning, ideally within a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic SME environment
  • Directly managing and developing the S&OP processes moving Wattbike forward in the IBP cycle with a handson approach
  • Experience with vendor partner manager, especially with Asian vendors.
  • Experience within international logistics, inbound and outbound.
  • Proactive and agile with an ability to work in and adapt to a fast
- changing environment

  • Familiar with both directtoconsumer and B2B sales channels.
  • A strategic thinker and influencer, with a handson style to deliver practical and effective solutions.
  • A natural team leader, used to prioritising and championing communication
