MS20- Policies, Standards and Compliance Manager

Location:
Colnbook, Slough


Salary:
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE + company car

Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Policies, Standards and Compliance Manager on behalf of one of our clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • You will be responsible for ensuring our business operations and procedures comply regulatory obligations, Highways England and other customer requirements, ISO standards and internal policies.
  • You will perform a range of duties including evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing company processes, and leading training sessions.
  • Management and ongoing continual development of policies, standards, processes, procedures, and associated compliance activities relating to existing company certification to the following ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 39001, ISO 44001 & ISO 45001(including requirements of National Highway Sector Scheme 7 where appropriate).
  • Management and compliance with Highways England standards, objectives, targets, and deliverables.
  • Management of other certifications to which the company subscribes including: Constructionline Platinum standard, Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
  • Development and implementation of additional policies, standards, processes, procedures and associated compliance activities relating to new certification standards.
  • Provision of reviews and advice in respect of SWOT analysis, risk and opportunities and governance.
  • Facilitation of external audits by BSI, BBA and customers to ISO and customer standards.
  • Planning and delivery of internal audits (and with external resources where appropriate) to required standards.
  • Recording and monitoring audit findings and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Leading annual management reviews in association with senior management team.
  • Development and implementation of business plan objectives arising from annual management reviews.
  • Management of Highways England and other customerspecific standards and obligations including monthly and quarterly metrics submissions.
  • Management of compliance obligations generally.
  • Undertaking and recording appropriate workplace inspections.
  • Carbon reporting for Highways England and other customers.
  • Preparation and submission of contractual compliance obligation reports to Highways England and other customers.
  • Board of Directors reports.
  • Internal and external communications related to the role.
  • Subcontractor compliance assessments.
  • Input to customer Pre-Qualification Questionnaires.
  • Liaison with environmental and other consultants.
  • Documentation control, storage and archiving.
  • To be a flexible and supportive member of the team.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times inside and outside of the business.
  • Attend and take part in any relevant meetings & regular reviews with your line manager/mentor.
  • To adhere to local and national Health & Safety regulations and the company's policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as required and appropriate to the job role.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mindset with excellent organisational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, teams, outlook, excel and word.
