We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. The role will be based in Hull and offers hybrid working.
We are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis.

The Finance Assistant will form part of the Finance team and will report directly to the Finance Manager, providing assistance in the day-to-day tasks in the department, whilst supporting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

The role interfaces with every aspect of the business including Engineering, Projects Delivery, Sales, and Recruitment as well as external bodies such as clients and suppliers.


Responsibilities

  • Preparation and processing of sales invoices.
  • Processing of supplier and contractor invoices.
  • Preparation of monthly contractor payments.
  • Produce monthly Work In Progress schedule.
  • Credit card reconciliation.
  • Collating and processing staff and contractor expenses.
  • Monitoring the approval of contractor timesheets and liaison with clients.
  • Setting up projects within our accounting software.
  • Maintaining financial spread sheets and reporting.
  • Assisting with credit control.
  • Assisting with providing annual accounts information to Accountant.
  • Respond to, and action any customer and supplier queries.
  • Assist with ad hoc general finance admin within the team.
  • Conduct adhoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications/ Experience:

Working towards AAT qualification or experience working in a Finance department would be preferred, but not essential.

  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload.
  • Solid attention to detail.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with both external and internal customers.
  • Problem solving and decisionmaking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation.

Software Skills:


  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Experience using SAGE 200 or other SAGE software would be preferred, but not essential.

From £22,000.00 per year
