As part of a formal Compliance Transformation Programme, M&G are pleased to have on offer a number of senior Compliance Advisory positions. The recruitment of these senior roles supports the implementation of a new global operating model for the Asset ManagementCompliance Advisory team and ensures we have the right capability and capacity to effectively support the business and its growth agenda.

Key role specific accountabilities:


  • To support the MGG CCO in meeting their regulatory obligations through provision of Compliance advisory and oversight activities in relation to Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance.
  • Lead, direct and manage the activity of Product & Distribution Compliance Advisory team, responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of the Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance strategy.

Engagement:


  • Provide strategic direction in relation to Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance with clear understanding of business priorities and expectations.
  • Represent Product & Distribution Compliance on committees and forums and cascade information as appropriate.
  • Represent Product, Distribution & Marketing on the Compliance Leadership Team, providing Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance updates.
  • Develop professional relationships with industry peers to discuss regulatory and industry best practice relating to Product, Distribution & Marketing.

Team Management:


  • Day to day management of direct reports, providing training plans, career development, mentorship and resource planning.
  • Motivate and lead by example, setting an exemplary standard of personal conduct and integrity.

Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance Advisory:

  • Responsible for provision of high quality proactive and reactive advice on Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance across the M&G business, assisting them in meeting regulatory expectations and good industry practice.
  • Provide Compliance advice on Product, Distribution & Marketing related processes including but not limited to private placement, distribution agreements, cross border regulations, business expansion and product development.

Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance Oversight:

  • Lead and motivate Compliance teams across M&G in their implementation of Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance, ensuring appropriate training, frameworks, tools, processes and procedures are in place in order to provide high quality Compliance advisoryservices to the business.
  • Work closely with M&G regional Compliance teams in their implementation and management of Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance, including the development of management information and reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring Product & Distribution Compliance is sufficiently engaged with the first line business units in order to drive the delivery of Compliance advice in a proactive manner.
  • Lead regional and global initiatives and projects related to Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance.
  • Oversee Compliance involvement in the integration of regulatory development applicable to Product, Distribution & Marketing.
  • Work closely with Compliance Monitoring & Assurance Team ("CMAT") on the development and oversight of the Annual CMAT Plan as it applies to Product, Distribution & Marketing.
  • Manage Audit / Compliance Monitoring Actions related to Product & Distribution Compliance, ensuring they are completed within the assigned deadlines.

Key knowledge, skills and experience

Leadership and Influence:


  • Seasoned Compliance senior leader, with a strong track record of leadership within complex, global financial services businesses and experience of working across a broad range of Compliance disciplines.
  • Strong track record of building close partnerships with senior stakeholders and being able to influence effectively.
  • Experience in providing strategic Product, Distribution & Marketing Compliance advice in the development and expansion of asset management.
  • An ability to support and develop a positive Compliance culture across the organisation
  • Experience of leading a geographically dispersed second line Compliance team within an international business, managing, coaching and developing capability.
  • Experience of attendance at and/or reporting to governance forums such as boards and senior level committees.

Industry Knowledge:


  • An awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic, regulatory and market environment in which M&G plc operates.
  • Strong understanding of the wider global financial services sector, in particular in relation to relevant competitors and product & services.

Regulatory Knowledge:


  • In depth understanding of the regulatory framework that underpins the UK and general knowledge and understanding of the EU, US and Asia-Pacific regulatory environments applicable to asset management, in particular as it relates to Product, Distribution& Marketing.
  • Expert knowledge of Product, Distribution & Marketing related regulations including but not limited to FCA, MiFid and AIFMD.
  • Understanding of the developing Environmental, Social and Governance regulations related to Product, Distribution & Marketing.

Product, Distribution & Marketing Knowledge:


  • In depth knowledge of the European distribution market and an understanding of the international distribution markets.
