Description

The apprenticeship programme on offer is the Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor which will prepare you for managing multiple services.

As part of the role you will also be required to supervise other staff and fully understand an implement service contracts.

You are required to have good communication, customer service skills and be proactive in problem solving.

Our Facilities team will be with you every step of the way to make sure you have the support needed.

You will be based in Southall Middlesex where the majority of training will take place. The role is Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with breaks.


To assist and support the Assistant Facilities Manager - Local and Forensic services across the full range of Facilities Services including community sites.


Ensure that all Facilities Services are delivered in an efficient and cost effective manner whilst ensuring the team adheres to Health and Safety.


To undertake administration duties and other associated tasks connected with the delivery of an efficient portering security and transport service.

Provide full administrative support for car parking management across the Trust and issue parking permits as required.

The post holder will be responsible for managing personal information of parking permit holders and registered Trust drivers

Key Result Areas & Performance:


Be responsible for the day to day monitoring and auditing of contracted services for catering, pest control, waste management, linen, security, car parking, grounds and gardens and all associated Facilities services including those received on the Service Level Agreement from the designated provider.


Be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the domestic/portering services/postal services provided by the in-house team or third party provider, identifying areas where service and efficiency can be improved.

Liaising on a day-to-day basis with Facilities Supervisors and Managers reporting service deficiencies as appropriate and ensuring that remedial action is taken as required


Respond to any complaints/concerns or queries in relation to the services provided and assisting in the investigation of incidents/ complaints of poor performance and where appropriate ensure that line management is fully aware of issues.


Responsible for the day to day management of the Facilities Supervisors within their own areas and cover for other teams as requested by the Deputy / Support Services Manager.


To lead by example by providing guidance and direction to all domestic staff and conducting yourself in a respectful and professional manner and to encourage the departmental staff to act in the same manner.

Assist in the monitoring and reporting of maintenance issues.

Carry out driver licence checks on all registered Trust drivers every 6 months and more regularly for those with driving endorsements or penalty points.


Deputise for the Assistant Facilities Managers in periods of annual leave and sickness absence and when requested to do so.

To be part of the recruitment process by providing required information to staffing solutions, organising and being involved in interview panels for various levels of staff and that the secondary induction is provided on commencement.


To carry out Performance Development Reviews for the Facilities Supervisors and follow up to ensure development needs are addressed and regular reviews and monitoring take place.

To also oversee that the PDR process takes place for all Facilities staff under your responsibility and assist where necessary.
