Role description


The role of Changeover Team Leader is to lead a team of Changeover Technicians and ensure and coordinate all functions for forthcoming height changes in the Plant.


Responsibilities:

Lead a team of 7 people responsible for all Plant changeovers, height change, label change and packaging change
Work within the Engineering department to plan and lead the Changeover team with hands on function
Lead SMED activities to reduce changeover duration
Manage teams to deliver first time right changeovers eg no HFI, line at rated speed
Work with other Engineering Team Leaders to design SOP's and subsequent risk assessments for height change procedures for all activities
To delevop and maintain excellent communication skills with the Engineering Team, Changeover / CI team and Production department in order to keep all production lines at their rated speed
Work with the CI team to support in the delivery of Ardagh Best Practices

Play an active role in Maintenance days, supporting Team Leaders and Production, ensuring the maintenance is completed on time and in full.

Support all project/ overhaul start ups with commissioning plans
Be involved with autonomous improvement project, working alongside shifts and day teams to indentify and develop. Lending on the technician expertise and knowledge of the Engineering and Shift teams.


Required Skills/Qualifications:

Time served apprentice level or equivalent in Engineering practices
HND/HNC or equivalent is desirable, Electrical qualification an advantage
Ability to demonstrate safe working practices
Good communicator, team worker and effective listener
Must be action orientated and a desire to achieve results / persevere
Trust teamwork and excellence
Must be flexible and with appropriate training be willing to work in other areas to support team members occasionally at short notice
A Team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under their own initiative
The ability to work well under pressure and organise and prioritise
