Job Opportunity:
OSS Systems Specialist

Location:
Greater London

1/2 days per week

Pay:
£500-£650 Outside IR35.

Job Purpose:

Create automation frameworks for easy access to development environments and infrastructure systems.
Design and implement secure and repeatable delivery technologies for varied environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize light-touch agile methodologies, JIRA Kanban, and DevOps automation (CI/CD using Jenkins).
Perform configuration management/automation (Packer, Puppet, Ansible).
Support and enhance on-premises cloud technologies (OpenStack, Heat/Terraform).
Maintain MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases, SOA bus (Redhat JBoss Fuse 6).
Collaborate with teams to design new strategies and toolsets.
Develop methodologies for orchestration of design, development, and deployments.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of Linux system administration experience.
Hands-on experience with automating on-premises virtualization platforms.
Knowledge of CI, build/release management, automated testing, and change control.
Familiarity with open-source SDLC toolsets (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket Server, Git, Jenkins).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with developers and senior leadership.
Experience in OS provisioning, software installation, and configuration management.
Ability to escalate and liaise with 3rd line support and customers for fault resolution.
Programming experience in Java, Ruby, or Python.
Scripting skills in Bash and PowerShell.
