Hybrid - Hounslow (with a requirement to work from the office 2 days per week)


Contract type:
Permanent / Full Time 37 hours per week


To provide support to the Payroll team by processing payroll accurately and on time, while providing excellent customer care to clients and customers.

You will be working with and supporting the wider HRP team and will have a good working knowledge of using payroll software, namely Itrent.

Good working knowledge of Excel and Word will be essential and preferably some knowledge of how to use Microsoft Teams.

The teams provide Payroll, Pension and HR Administration, functions within the HRP Operations Teams supporting our clients.


You will be providing a wide range of duties throughout an employee's lifecycle including payroll and pension duties working in a fast paced environment.

You will be working as part of a wider team and will report to the Operational Leader.


Key tasks and responsibilities:


  • Responsible for all HRP administration ensuring all correspondence/instructions are responded to in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process the monthly payroll using our integrated HRP iTrent system to ensure the prompt and accurate administration of all HR Payroll and Pension related payments and deductions.
  • To accurately process new starters, leavers and variations and absences on our payroll system.
  • Checking monthly payroll accuracy reports for net pay differences and error and warnings.
  • Process monthly/annual pension reports including all starters, leavers, and transfers in a timely manner.
  • Other duties include dealing with reference requests, confirmations of employment, maintaining employee electronic files.
  • To be the first point of contact for all queries raised by clients responding in a timely manner and in line with our clients SLA's
  • Issuing letters where required, regarding overpayments, sickness entitlement etc
  • To work with colleagues in a professional manner to meet company standards, achieve quality assurance standards and comply with GDPR regulations
  • Assist with other duties as required, commensurate with role, grade, and responsibility in the wider HRP team.

Essential Skills and Attributes:


  • Educated to GCSE level or above with English and Maths, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent IT skills in MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams
  • Good oral/written communication and numeracy skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Knowledge of iTrent HR & Payroll system would be desirable
  • Actively make suggestions to improve and streamline processes
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to service delivery
  • Knowledge of MAPP Leave and statutory entitlements along with SSP
  • Knowledge of Local Government and Teachers Conditions of service and pension schemes is desirable
  • Significant experience working in a medium to large payroll environment
  • Excellent knowledge of current payroll legislation
  • Experience of pension scheme/pensioner payroll administration
  • Good working knowledge of payroll systems
  • Ability to build great working relationships
