Description

This post comprises of 10 PA's, which typically include direct clinical care of 8.5 PA and supporting professional activity of 1.5 PA.

Additional SPA activity may be approved with mutual agreement for roles within the organisation.


All consultants are required to live within a reasonable distance of the Trust and be able to attend within thirty minutes when on call.


You will work with Consultants in Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Theatre Staff, Divisional Managers, other members of the Anaesthetic Department, other consultant colleagues, senior nursing staff and management of the hospital.


Key tasks:


  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients. Teaching and training of junior staff and medical
  • To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance, service development and general
  • To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical
  • There is possibility of locum consultant anaesthetist roles with on call activity being weekend trauma lists which run 8am to 2pm rather than the general on call rota
