ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an opportunity to have a role with huge variety, working across a number of different areas of finance at a council with some unbelievable projects coming up.
Notwithstanding the town is home to three international, sector-leading organisations in Airbus, MBDA and GSK. Don't be surprised when you see on the news that Mars rovers, space satellites and more are designed and built there
There is a very supportive and nurturing environment however due to the size of the team and demands of the role it is vital that you are able to work independently and take a proactive approach.
Reporting to the Finance Manager (Business Partner) the main responsibilities of the post holder will be to:
- Provide professional and expert accounting and technical service for the revenue, holding and control accounts for Stevenage Direct Services, Environment and Planning & Regulatory services
- Work with these services to support them to make decisions and to ensure the Council has timely financial information for both officers and Members.
- Contribute to monthly Key performance Information to the Senior Leadership Team and support the closure of the accounts by the statutory deadline.
ABOUT YOU
You will be ideally a fully qualified accountant or a finalist with strong relationship building capabilities and experience in a commensurate function.
