Scheduler - Water Industry (Remote Engineers)


Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and highly organised Scheduler to join our dynamic team within the water industry.

As a Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimising the activities of our remote engineering workforce.

Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently plan, schedule, and monitor various water projects, ensuring timely completion and maximum operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Scheduling:
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive schedules for water-related engineering projects. Utilise project management tools and software to create realistic timelines and ensure all deliverables are met within specified timeframes.

Resource Allocation:
Effectively assign and distribute tasks to remote engineers based on their expertise, availability, and location. Balance workloads to maximize productivity and maintain high-quality project outcomes.

Remote Team Communication:

Establish and maintain regular communication channels with remote engineers to provide them with clear instructions, address concerns, and keep them informed of any changes in project schedules or requirements.


Real-Time Monitoring:
Continuously monitor project progress and adapt schedules as needed to address unforeseen challenges or changes in project scope. Keep track of potential delays and implement strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project timelines.

Efficiency Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve project scheduling and resource allocation processes to enhance overall efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Collaborative Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, field technicians, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless coordination and successful project execution.


Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of project schedules, changes, and adjustments. Generate reports for management to track project performance and provide insights for future planning.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all projects adhere to safety protocols and regulations, working closely with the Health and Safety team to uphold a safe working environment for remote engineers.


Training and Support:

Provide training and support to remote engineers on project scheduling tools and best practices to ensure consistent and effective implementation.


Industry Research:

Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends within the water industry, particularly in terms of project management and scheduling methodologies.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Proven experience as a Scheduler or in a similar role within the water industry.
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities to address scheduling challenges effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with remote engineers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability and responsibility.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the water industry is advantageous.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust schedules and plans based on changing project requirements.
