Playworker (Casual or Fixed Term)

Job purpose and context
The Playworker is expected to provide a high quality stimulating environment to support play opportunities and to promote inclusive play with all children.
They will ensure that the care needs of each child are met at the highest standards throughout the day.Playworker's work as part of the Playground team which requires the co-operation of all staff and volunteers to ensure the efficient and professional running of the service.
Roles and responsibilities
- To support the ELHAP CEO's in developing the charity according to its ethos and philosophy of care.
- To ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people attending ELHAP.
- Work effectively and respectfully with ELHAP staff and volunteers to ensure the delivery of high quality inclusive adventure play opportunities.
- Use appropriate playwork intervention styles to support a range of play types.
- To role model good practice to staff and volunteers.
- To always protect children from abuse and harm and follow the ELHAP Safeguarding Children policy and
- To liaise with parents and to complete daily reports in a respectful, sensitive and professional style.
- To use own initiative and common sense.
- To prepare the playground in the mornings and to clean up at the end of each day, as directed by senior staff.
- To fully meet the individual needs of children and ensure the highest standards of care are achieved throughout each day.

PLAYWORKER

Ability to provide and facilitate high quality play

Experience
Significant experience of working with disabled children and young
people aged years
Experience of working in a team
BSL, Makaton or PECS experience
Experience of working in a play setting
Qualifications and experience
A minimum qualification of Cache/NVQ level 2 or equivalent in
Playwork or JNC recognised qualification in Youth and Community
Work
Current first aid qualification
Epilepsy awareness and medication administration qualification
Behaviour management qualification (Team Teach, NAPPI etc)
Clean driving license with a D1 category (suitable for driving minibuses)
MIDAS minibus qualification

Part-time hours: 7-35 per week
Salary:
£12.00 per hour
