Our client is known for high-end residential design and construction projects, they are currently seeking a proactive and certified Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner to join the team part-time for two days per week.

This position offers a strategic and hands-on role in driving their commitment to safety and excellence.
We invite dynamic professionals to contribute to their growth and uphold and improve safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Provide mentorship and training to Health and Safety trainees, guiding their development into competent professionals in the field.

Lead investigations and manage the response to serious safety incidents, serving as the primary liaison for external parties such as HSE and insurance companies.


Engage actively in strategic internal communications by:

  • Maintaining the site training manual.
  • Publishing quarterly safety bulletins.
  • Presenting safety statistics at board meetings.
  • Developing and tracking the progress of annual health and safety plans.
  • Monitoring safety alerts from external sources, including updates from HSE.
Managing the information required to renew company accreditations, such as CHAS, Constructionline, and Safe Contractor certifications.

Oversee annual renewals and statutory inspections for:
Health, safety, and environmental policies.
Company equipment.
Office installation safety, including checks on electrical equipment, gas boilers, and fire and security panels.

Conduct routine safety verifications, including:
Weekly emergency call point checks.
Inspections of waste bin contents.
Verification of vehicle hire documentation.
Authorisation of CITB grants and equipment inspection processes.

Qualifications:
Valid charter status with a recognised Health and Safety body.
Proven experience in health and safety within the construction industry.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
