This role is responsible for delivering and coordinating training functions within the Air Canada Cargo department.
The role includes liaising with Air Canada Cargo Operations, Customer Service Unit, Dangerous Goods, Warehouse personnel, Sales, Headquarters and external third parties.
The role is additionally responsible for training compliance with Service Level Agreements for all Air Canada products, procedures and processes.
May be required to assist the Cargo Training Manager to deliver training across Europe.Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver classroombased training for all mandatory requirements
- Oversee and manage all elearning to ensure 100% compliance
- Deliver all Air Canada operational system training (Weblynx, Smartload)
- Deliver operational training requirements to include: departmental procedures; system procedures; warehouse procedures & responsibilities; Air Canada Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Delivery of soft skills training such as Customer Service,
- Research and develop training material based on local requirements to include: lesson plan; reference guide; handouts; exercises; exams; PowerPoint presentations
- Redevelop corporate training as required to meet local/international requirements in conjunction with Cargo Training & Development
- Work with and oversee warehouse training instructors to include: airside driving; Operational equipment (ETV, TV etc); forklift driving; Pristine Condition manual handling; onthejob training for new employees
- Manage new employee induction and coordinate with Cargo Resource Planning Manager, Cargo Training Manager and Human Resources
- Assist auditors in local station audit
- Conduct training in the UK and International stations to meet Air Canada SOP as required
- Set up new station procedures onsite together with required training in conjunction with Manager and GHA Vendor Management
- Work with our GSA / GHA's to provide instruction, procedural information and direction
Qualifications
Minimum Selection Criteria
- Training experience essential
- Minimum of 5 years Cargo experience
- An excellent knowledge of cargo processes and procedures
- Demonstrable leadership and presentation skills
- Must be a team player and represent Air Canada in a professional manner
- Must have an ability to use tact, good judgement and initiative, with a flexible attitude
- Ability to work under pressure, plan workload and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Required to wear PPE in designated highrisk areas
- Must be prepared to travel in Europe, North America, Middle East, Africa and India to deliver and/or receive training
- Must have ability to work in the UK unrestricted
Additional Assets
- Experience of Weblynx, ABS, ETS, Smartload and Microsoft Office suite would be an advantage
- Dangerous Goods certified
- Dft security clearance
- Forklift experience
