The role


The Learning and Events Co-ordinator is an important role within a strong and highly motivated team, reporting to the Experiential Learning and Events Manager.

They'll work closely with different members of the UKGBC team to deliver engaging courses and events which play a key role in achieving our mission.

This role supports the many ways we convene and engage our members. We run over 100 events and learning and leadership opportunities a year in a variety of formats.

Job summary

Job title:
Learning and Events Co-ordinator


Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the delivery of a programme of virtual, London and nationwide courses and events to communicate with, inspire and educate delegates about a sustainable built environment.


Line Manager:
Experiential Learning and Events Manager


Length of contract:
Permanent, Full Time (would consider P/T 4 days a week)


Place of Work:

Hybrid model with remote working in place, with the expectation of around 2 days per week in UKGBC London offices (in agreement with Line Manager).


Start Date:
January 2024


Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver UKGBC's portfolio of events, supporting teams across UKGBC

To include:

  • Organise and coordinate the running of inperson events, including coordination of speakers, sourcing venues and arranging catering and AV equipment hire for face to face interactions.
  • Deliver virtual and hybrid events in an agile way; seeking new platforms, delivering and hosting polished online events
  • Support the organisation and delivery of learning courses across our learning portfolio.
  • Own the events planning process, improving and communicating changes where needed, with support from the Experiential Learning and Events Manager.
  • Work with the marketing and communications team to ensure events are marketed to relevant stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and nurture events supplier and membervenue relations, alongside the Membership Team.
  • Secure and analyse feedback from delegates after events.
  • Assist in pulling out learning from events, to be shared with our members.
  • Work with administrative support across the organisation to ensure streamlined and efficient event planning.
  • Ensure all events are delivered to budget and at the requisite quality level
  • Coordinate the periodic reporting of events performance against KPIs for the Leadership Team, and also more broadly for the quarterly CEO reports to the Board of Trustees.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Key competencies

Essential

  • Demonstrable event planning and coordination skills or project management skills, with a passion for events management
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong project coordination capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple projects/activities and maintain tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written (copywriting skills) and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with emotional intelligence
  • Budgeting and financial tracking skills
  • Confident and highly selfmotivated, with a resultsoriented approach
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, and prioritise effectively in a busy work environment
