Description
The role of the People Partner is to act as the first point of contact for the HR team delivering a high-quality support service to the business.
They will build and maintain employee culture and morale and act as a change agent for people related initiatives and projects within the business.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff and collaborating with other areas of the business, they will support the coordination and delivery of various HR programmes and cyclical activities.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Programme delivery of cyclical HR activities including performance management process, annual compensation cycle, benefits windows, PSL review as well as critical file feeds to vendor partners and related issue resolution.
- Partner with other business areas such as IT, R&C, Governance, Legal, Finance, Operations etc in support of key projects
- Assist with training and communications with managers to improve their understanding of systems, HR Operations programs and the use of tools to motivate and reward performance.
- Supporting the critical role planning and talent management strategy.
- Lead of a range of employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Lead on monthly payroll processing, including collating payroll data, input and checking, working with external providers to provide an efficient payroll service.
- Deliver recruitment activity for the business
- Act as recruitment partner for the business, liaise with hiring managers and supporting the interview scheduling and feedback process.
- Coordinate the background check process for all new starters and on an ad hoc basis as policy and process dictates
- Coordinates the process in relation to the employee lifecycle including recruitment, new starters, leavers, absence, family friendly leave, performance management, reward and benefits, talent management & development and engagement.
- Drafting all types of employee documentation, including employment contracts, promotion letters, compensation documents etc.
- Development of HR policies and processes ensuring these are kept uptodate and in line with current legislation
- Training and coaching of managers to enable them to deal with people related issues in a compliant, efficient manner.
- Handles sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintains confidentiality
- Adapts easily to a changing environment and comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity
- Strong relationshipdevelopment skills resulting in longterm, mutually beneficial client relationships
- Strong problem resolution and decisionmaking skills and ability to resolve issues be creative and resourceful, demonstrate sound judgment and accountability, escalating issues as appropriate
- Selfmotivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests, as well as collaborating with others to identify quality solutions
- Strong organisational, planning and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks to meet business requirements and deadlines
- Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout BTPS to effectively and professionally achieve business results
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
ESSENTIAL Experience/Skills:
- Previous experience as an Advisor or related discipline with exposure to all HR functions
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of multiple work teams, inspire trust, work effectively with difficult people, and adapt well to diverse audiences
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organisation
DESIRABLE Experience/Skills:
- Experience of HR system i.e ElementSuite
