Growing Young Minds is a small and friendly education company, started and is run by a qualified teacher. Running since 2016 our aim is to help local families provide high quality additional academic support for their children. We believe in child centred learning so that each lesson is tailored to match the children's needs.

Furthermore, we do not teach to the test - we have a strong ethos of life long learning and developing children's knowledge and confidence, which can be applied to solving problems and reading or writing in real life.


Job description
We are looking for an additional qualified and experienced teacher to join our successful education company.

This role will allow you to work with small groups of children providing engaging and fun lessons without the additional pressures of school paperwork.

Our engaged children love attending and through our ethos and principles have developed a love of learning.

Therefore, we are now looking for a new teacher to join our current team who will continue to fostering enthusiasm and build confidences.

Responsibility + Skills

  • Plan and teach ageappropriate lessons to groups of children (all of which will be the same age/ability)
  • Plan using a variety of resources and learning styles to support each child
  • Plan and deliver fun and engaging lessons which inspires learning
  • Monitor progress through the curriculum expectations, ensuring appropriate learning opportunities are provided, documenting on each child's progress
  • Ensure a good level of progress occurs both in lessons and across the topic area
  • Follow the principles and lesson structure of Growing Young Minds
  • Develop effective and professional relationships with children and their families
  • Demonstrating calm and effective behaviour management strategies
  • Provide a safe and happy classroom
  • Identify barriers to learning and help children overcome them; working with Growing Young Minds to support children and families through any concerns
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to think and work alone, as well as part of a team
  • Highly developed, both oral and written, communication skills
  • Attend parent meetings twice a year

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of the UK school system (preferably Secondary, English or KS2 experience)
  • Experience of teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning (although not essential)
  • Confident to use ICT software such as Microsoft or Google Drive
  • Satisfactory DBS check and references
A part-time permanent position, in our Earlsfield branch.

Classes start from - 7pm and applicants can do one, two or three hours from the same location on the same day or less hours on different days.

Some flexibility for the right experience but we are looking for:
Primary Teacher in Earlsfield - 3 hours

£30 per hour


Schedule:

  • Multiple hour of Primary experience in Earlsfield, experience of Year 7 English is a plus.
Lessons must occur in Earlsfield and not online.

  • Every weekend
  • Monday to Friday
