Aaban Partnership Ltd is a new and exciting service offering high-quality specialist mental health services for young people with complex mental health needs.

Aaban Partnership Ltd has two CQC regulated bespoke built 10 bedded units offering Assessment, Stabilisation, treatment, and intervention for young people aged years.


Providence Unit (Assessment and Stabilisation Unit) and Moira Unit (Treatment and Intervention Unit) are our two units and we require passionate, committed, hard-working staff to work as part of our multi disciplinary team.


We are currently seeking a full time Activities Coordinator who has a passion for working with children and young people, and who will help create and deliver a stimulating environment, through imaginative, motivational, and fun activities that suit all abilities, hobbies, and interests to ensure each young persons day has meaningful activity.

The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for delivering high-energy, fun, and inclusive sessions that ensure every child is engaged and has lots of fun, regardless of their ability.

Activities can include a variety of sports, arts & crafts, cooking sessions, clubs, trips out, therapeutic massage, mindfulness, and in house seasonal events, charity events etc.


Part of the role will involve getting to know each young person which will enable you with planning, designing, and organising tailored activities programmes to meet young peoples social, emotional, and physical needs.


What will I be doing and what Skills do I need?
Be able to work proactively and collaboratively with the Multi Disciplinary team. Maintain professional relationships with children, staff, parents, and carers; communicating effectively.


Managing a set budget and ensuring enough resources are available to deliver the identified activities, and being cost effective in sourcing equipment/resources.

Producing weekly activity planners for each child and posters for the unit considering fun, educational, therapeutic, and adventurous activities.

Risk assessment of the activities and the items used within the session. As well as checking and organising equipment and site. Setting up activity area and cleaning up after.

Monitoring levels of engagement and feeding back to Multi Disciplinary team.


Making comprehensive records of the activities on young peoples notes on our electronic recording system and taking photos (with consent) and attaching them to the system.


A real team player who is highly motivated to engage with young people who may lack motivation and who may be reluctant to engage.


You'll need to be flexible in your approach and willing to adapt based on individual needs of young people and there views/needs on the day.

Possess leadership skills and a vibrant and confident personality.

Experience of working with young people who have mental health difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Some symptoms young people may experience may include self harm, suicidal ideation, low mood, risk to others, AWOL, and emotional dysregulation.


A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and an ability to establish a respectful and trusting relationship with children and young people.

Supporting young people with emotional and psychological needs


Deliver activities on a one-to-one basis as well as group sessions comprising of meaningful therapeutic activities, to promote independence and wellbeing.

Playing an active role in ward data collection.


What experience or qualifications would I need?

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people within the health and social care sector.
  • A strong team player
  • A passion and enthusiasm for the outdoor world and working with children.
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to feel confident in asking for support when needed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A driving licence.
  • Experience working alongside children with challenging behaviour.
  • Experience working with people with mental health difficulties
  • Sports Coach or Activities Coordinator experience
  • Adventure Training or Therapy Experience would be an asset.
  • Enthusiastic with skills in activity planning and outdoor pursuits.

£14.00 per hour
