About the role:

You will have proven experience of working in a fire safety role.

Your experience will have given you an excellent knowledge and understanding of how to plan and deliver fire safety programmes, including writing specifications, contract monitoring and compliance, and financial management.

You will be comfortable in having responsibility for delivering high-quality fire safety compliance, inspecting and controlling contractors, and ensuring that our residents' safety is at the forefront of your work.


You will be part of the Housing Investment and Management Service which delivers a wide range of projects across asset management, Sustainability and energy, mechanical & electrical and planned and major capital works for our housing stock of approximately 12,500 properties.


The aim of the service is to focus on improving housing quality and supply, achieving carbon reductions, improving the services, and living conditions of our residents and reducing homelessness across the city.

The role of the Fire Safety Surveyor will be to:

  • Take responsibility for matters relating to fire safety in our housing stock
  • Manage resident engagement with fires safety matters
  • Undertake fire safety audits on site, report deficiencies and monitor repairs
  • Comply with the Fire Safety Act and Building Safety Act
  • Work seamlessly with the Fire Safety Manager to schedule and monitor fire safety works and fire risk assessments, working within budget

Additional information:

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
