We have three posts available in two of our area teams - one team based from our Dorchester Office the other split between our Wareham and Wimborne Offices.

We allow for hybrid home working with one team day in the office per week ( For home working you will require a good quality, reliable internet connection).


What you can expect to be doing:
Details of the types of work undertaken nature of the work are provided in the Context Statement.

However, in summary the post holder will work as part of an area team responsible for delivering all aspect of support, tasks undertaken will include:


  • Processing appeals.
  • To develop and maintain a current knowledge of planning working practices and procedures, and to stay abreast of constantly changing legislation and policy changes.

About you:

The experience, knowledge and skills required for this role are specified in the Person Specification.

In summary we are seeking individuals who have a high level of general administrative skills, are organised, able to meet the demands of a busy work schedule and ensure deadlines are met.

You will need to have good communication skills and build working relationships with our planning officers, architects, and agents. Be an effective team players as well as have the ability to work of your own initiative.

IT systems used include Microsoft packages, Teams and service specific systems such as Mastergov and mapping software QGIS.

Training for service-based systems will be provided however a good working knowledge of IT including the use of Outlook, Word and Excel is essential.

Our services are customer focused and the post holder will be communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
