A leading manufacturing group that have continued to work through the difficult climate over the last few years is looking for experienced Buyer to join them on a full time, permanent basis as they continue to expand.


Supplying OEM Manufacturer's for the Automotive Industry, you will be be the main point of contact for Project Managers and the Engineering department for progress of purchased parts and services.


Typical Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Organise and manage daily purchasing requirements and deliveries for the production team.
  • Agree specifications with Engineering that are required for purchased items.
  • Responsible for materials and subcon purchase.
  • Involvement with supplier negotiation, ensuring effective contract negotiation and supplier management.
- benchmarking and negotiating at every opportunity.

  • Organise and lead supplier review meetings.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement activities / initiatives

Skills, Knowledge and experience:


  • Experience in the manufacturing sector would be desirable with excellent knowledge of the variety of materials used
  • Purchasing experience of bespoke mechanical and electrical items
  • Use and maintenance of ERP /MRP system
  • Ability to read drawings an advantage
  • CIPS Trained advantageous

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
