Solicitor - up to £70k + up to 20% bonus - hybrid role optional.
Our Client is looking for a Solicitor or Barrister with at least 3 years PQE, who specialises in civil and commercial litigation with a good understanding of Civil Procedure Rules.
You must love the satisfaction of closing deals, and around 60% of your time would be working with their pricing/investment team support debt purchase and servicing contracts.
Accountabilities of a Solicitor
- Proactively manage caseloads
- Working towards and driving positive business results
- Conduct advocacy and always work towards the best possible result
- Providing guidance to members of the legal team
- Conduct litigation including issuing claims, obtaining judgments, and enforcing the same
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and other parties as well as preparing and drafting detailed reports, correspondence, advice, and court documents
- Attendance at the client, with counsel, and meetings (onsite/offsite)
- Ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines, quality measures and key performance indicators
- Ensuring compliance with client service level agreements, relevant policies, and procedures as well as FCA/SRA guidance
- Developing and supporting business development initiatives
- Completion of management information
- Achieving targets/KPIs set by your Line Manager
- Ensure efficient file management including adherence to timescales, compliance with precedents, letters, or documents on the case management system
- Communicates risk issues to clients and the Executive team as appropriate
- Keep up to date with all core legal developments relating to debt recovery
- Oversees and produces complex documents, briefs, and affidavits through plain English (verbal and written communication).
- Manages client meetings, sets expectations with clients, and leads negotiations with mínimal guidance as and when required
What experience do you need?
- Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE experience working in a renowned firm
- Strong desire to work in this area of law with some experience
- Desire to work in a small team environment
- Desire to contribute to the growth and development of a dynamic team
- Ability to form and execute case planning and strategies
- Good research skills
- Attention to detail
- Keen analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Excellent IT skills / confidence using legal software and case management (in a paperless office)
