Holt Executive is supporting a multi-national defence and aerospace pioneer, delivering mission-critical technology and systems to customers on the land, sea, and air.

They are currently recruiting for a
Supply Chain Buyer to join their fast-paced, innovative business in Horsham, West Sussex.

As
Supply Chain Buyer you will be responsible for managing a range of commodities, executing the supply chain strategy, developing and driving strong risk mitigated supply partnerships, to ensure the delivery of quality products and services on plan, at the lowest cost of ownership.

Key responsibilities of the
Supply Chain Buyer:

Manage a mixed portfolio of direct and indirect Suppliers.
Preparing RFI and RFQ's, consolidating feedback and working as part of a team to determine an award, engagement, and disengagement strategy as appropriate.
Placing, monitoring, and chasing purchase orders to meet business demands.
Executing regular business reviews, examining performance, and setting improvement goals in line with functional objectives.
Identifying risks, working collaboratively and cross functionally implementing strategies to mitigate these.
Uphold the integrity of the ERP system, validating and maintaining part and supplier characteristics to ensure the smooth flow of product from dock to stock.
Examine supply chains identifying opportunities to minimise waste, increase the 'value chain' and maximise 'value add' in order to deliver an agile supply chain network.
Explore mechanisms to reduce the overall cost of supply, examining, (but not limited to) consolidation approaches, replenishment mechanisms, logistic bundling, working capital optimisation and enhancement of the general terms and conditions of supply.
Support the introduction of new products, consulting with engineering to ensure the timely release of parts, adapting the supply chain to support emerging needs.
Support and participate in Continuous Improvement programs, driving assigned actions to conclusion in a timely manner.

Essential Knowledge and Skills required for the
Supply Chain Buyer:

Knowledge of order processing, purchase orders etc.
Good analytical and IT skills and a working knowledge of using MRP/ERP systems.

Desirable but not essential:

Experience of Progress Plus/Epicor Kinetic

Security Clearance Requirements:

Due to the nature of our business, our staff need to be able to obtain UK Security Clearance as a mandated requirement.

Therefore, if successful, you will need to provide proof of identity, employment history and right to work in the UK, along with proof of UK residency for at least five years.
