Description
The Associate Director - People Services is a key member of the ICS People Function senior leadership team. The People Directorate provides the internal HR function for Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB.


The Associate Director of People Services will lead and manage the HR function, acting as the key HR specialist in HWE ICB.

They will have corporate responsibility for all aspects for the people services function including managing the HRBP team, HR resourcing, workforce intelligence, employee relations and operational HR.


The Associate Director of People Services will work together with the Associate Director for OD, Leadership, Education & Culture to create an environment where people are supported and nurtured to deliver the best care possible to HWE.


The remit of the role includes:

  • Liaising professionally across the system as the senior Human Resource specialist
- effectively leading and directing the business partnering team to drive value, improvements, and innovation in the delivery of people services
- leading or contributing programmes of change management and integrated working in partnership with colleagues across HWE Integrated Care System (ICS)
- providing business partnering services to the Executive team
- supporting the Executive team to deliver the wider operational and strategic objectives of the ICB/ICS
- supporting programmes to drive improvements in recruitment and retention, staff wellbeing, belonging and inclusion, talent management & succession planning
- ensuring that the HWE ICB people service strategy is translated into fit for purpose people plans to deliver meaningful impact and outcomes, aligned to the NHS People plan and NHS People Promise


The postholder will be a practicing HR professional who is looking to develop their HR leadership portfolio, with experience of managing HR functions and be an expert employee relations specialist.


NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the local NHS organisation that plans and oversees how NHS money is spent and makes sure health services work well and are of high quality.


The ICB's role is to join up health and care services, improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for the 1.5 million people who live in Hertfordshire and West Essex.
