About The Role:

The Financial Controller role is a key role within the finance department and will lead all aspects of financial control and reporting for the company.

Managing a team of 4-5 accounting staff the Financial Controller is responsible for implementing and maintaining a strong financial control framework, ensuring compliance with both internal and external requirements.

The individual will be proactive in staying current on accounting standards and tax regulation.

To succeed the individual will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop key relationships within the department, the business, and the wider group.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight and daytoday management of the financial accounting team of 45 staff.
• Responsible for all statutory reporting
• Responsible for all tax calculations and reporting including HMRC duty on Ethanol
• Overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with financial control framework and reporting policies and procedures
• Management and responsibility of relationships with advisors and auditors (internal and external)
• Responsible for developing and maintaining robust policies and procedures built around the financial control framework and embedding these within the business
• Be the key point of contact for all external audits team, maintaining an excellent relationship and ensuring the smooth running of the annual processes
• Ownership of the balance sheet reconciliation process and supporting documentation
• Ownership of all transactional accounting processes including purchase to pay, order to cash, cashflows and expenses
• Responsible for the commodity transactions back office and risk management processes

Additional Information
***This role will be key in owning financial data and ensuring robustness of processes to provide the business with timely and accurate financial data.


About You:


Knowledge - skills and experience required

• Qualified ACA/CIMA accountant with minimum 58 years PQE
• Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Previous ABF Group experience in Finance would be advantageous

About Us:

Vivergo Fuels Ltd (VFL) is part of the AB Sugar division within ABF (Associated British Foods).

The business operates a world scale wheat to bioethanol & animal feed plant which is based on the Saltend Chemicals complex in Hull.
