Credit Controller

In this role you will:

  • Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors
  • Encourage payment of overdue invoices and identify when payments will be made
  • Follow up to ensure payments have been made as agreed and make further contact if necessary
  • Negotiate payment plans
  • Send statements to customers
  • Accurately record information and outcomes gathered from customer and colleague contact
  • Check and update Sage with credit limits and any other Top service notifications
  • Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time
  • Liaise with Solicitors and credit insurance company
  • Reduce debtor days and percentage of overdue accounts to ensure targets are met and system/process problems are identified
  • Build constructive relationships with THX customers
  • Raise relevant issues to the Financial Controller.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the finance team with tasks as required
  • All other reasonable management requests.

It is essential that you have:

  • Experience of working as a Credit Controller, including regular contact with creditors
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • The ability to build rapport with customers
  • The ability to be pleasantly assertive
  • The ability to identify and solve problems
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
