Health & Safety Manager (Transport & Warehouse)

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager within Transport & Warehousing to join a market leading 3PL logistics operation.
They are seeking a NEBOSH qualified H&S Manager to support the current Health & Safety team to play a pivotal role in delivering and maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture across transport & warehousing nationally.
- NEBOSH General Certification- NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Certification is desirable
- CPC Transport Management qualification is desirable
- Experience within a logistics, transport and distribution network
- IOSH Managing Safety qualification
- Experienced in overseeing H&S for a 3PL transport operation
- H&S management experience in a similar environment
- Preferably experience with ISO 900
- A knowledge of Tachograph regulations is highly desirable
- Ability to plan, prioritise, work to deadlines, without supervision and on their own initiative
- Able to identify and separate out the key components of problems and situation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building and a strong communicator

Duties and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility and compliance of the Company's Health & Safety, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol.
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Assist with the wider business management teams the implementation of ISO 900
- Elect and set up Health & Safety representative meetings as per statutory requirements.
- Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting Health & Safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
- Produce, review, update and implement all Health & Safety Policy and Procedures
- Update and review all site Health & Safety signage
- Conduct/organise relevant Health & Safety training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety.
- Conduct all "risk assessments" as required by legislation and are reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
- Advise the Senior Team of all incidents reportable under R.I.D.D.O.R.
- Conduct Health & Safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
- Bring to the attention of the Senior Team any relevant new legislation.
