An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Safeguarding Team.

We are looking to recruit a capable, helpful and enthusiastic administrator who will be a key player in providing administration support to the staff within the team.


The role will be:

  • To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Safeguarding Children and Adult Team, including Mental Capacity Act & DoLS, Domestic Abuse & Learning Disabilities.
  • Manages own workload, required to act independently deciding when it is necessary to refer to their manager.
  • Liaise with staff, multiagency/ external agency representatives, patient/ carer groups, in receiving or delivering information, meeting invitations, meeting minutes
  • Processes a variety of data and administration sources including excel data bases, other Trust IT systems, Microsoft packages, disseminating and storing a variety of communications in varying formats
  • Prepare formal agendas and minutes and timetable for papers for a number of Committees and meetings e.g. Integrated Safeguarding Committee, Integrated Safeguarding Operational Group and Safeguarding Children's Forum, Clinical Ethics Committe
  • Provide full personal administrative assistance for the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children (NNSC) and Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Adults (LNSA)
  • Manage the calendars of the NNSC and the LNSA effectively.
  • Arrange and coordinate key meetings for both the NNSC and the LNSA, ensuring the relevant papers are gathered, collated and distributed, agendas are prepared in advance, minutes are accurately taken and disseminated to all members in a timely manner. Ensure meeting and committee action trackers are kept up to date
  • Be a central communication point for Safeguarding Team assessing the urgency of any communication, need for action and providing assistance when necessary.
  • Support the NNSC and LNSA with investigations when required, to ensure accuracy, speed, sensitivity and confidentiality are always considered
  • Complete all appropriate LEARN Computer Based Training (CBT) and Statutory Mandatory training as required
  • To maintain patient safety through rigorous and consistent compliance with Trust policies for the prevention and control of infection, including hand hygiene. To undertake appropriate mandatory training and updates in infection prevention and control.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in compliance with Trust and staff responsibilities under section 11 of The Children Act 2004; to safeguard and promote the welfare of Adults at Risk, in compliance with Care Act
