Description
We are Big Motoring World, the UK's fast growing, multi-award winning car supermarket group. In line with our growth plan, we are expanding our digital marketing team.


We're looking for an experienced Social Media Executive who is seeking the next step in their career to join our expanding marketing team based at Gillingham in Kent.


As our Social Media Executive, you'll be responsible for the execution, optimisation and reporting of all our digital marketing activities, with a strong emphasis on organic social media and social advertising.


The objective is to drive website traffic, grow our social following and engagements, increase our online conversions and conversion rates, and to increase our brand awareness and exposure across the digital space.


Social Media Advertising

  • Take ownership for our social advertising programme by developing a social advertising strategy covering a range of channels to push relevant traffic, leads and phone calls in to our business.
  • Explore integrations and APIs relating to social advertising to optimise our advertising performance and lead handling processes.
  • Build out a fullfunnel approach to our social advertising strategy to ensure we're visible to our audience across all stages of the purchasing journey from awareness, consideration and intent, through to purchase and retention.
  • Managing an annual social advertising budget of over £500,000 P/A, working together with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Director to push business objectives across social media channels.
  • Continually build, monitor and learn from social media and analytical metrics to continually drive account performance improvements.
  • Taking ownership of our finance social advertising programme to drive finance enquiries into our business.
  • Explore opportunities and collaborations with influencers and microinfluencers to drive new audiences to our brand.

Social Media Organic

  • Develop owned content and liaise with our internal videographer/photographer to regularly produce content to promote our brand values and USPs.
  • Actively seek out relevant and interesting content from sources such as external websites, industry news sites, as well as directly from our dealerships and prep centre.
  • Schedule engaging content for the Group's social media accounts by publishing posts, competitions and offers across multiple channels.
  • Support with managing the group social media accounts.
  • Continuously seek to identify key trends and industry authorities with the aim to utilise opportunities to increase engagement.
  • Create, post, and monitor social media campaigns and boosted posts where required.
  • Working with social champions across our branch network to develop on the ground content.
  • Running focus groups with our customers to understand what they want to see from our social media activity.
  • Report on social media metrics.

Additional duties ad hoc

  • Producing analytical business and market reports to feedback on our effectiveness across the business.
  • Work with our search agency and internal teams to drive the online visibility of our website through search engine optimisation and digital PR.
  • Work closely with the wider Marketing Team to contribute ideas to support wider marketing campaigns.
  • Adhere to and work within the guidelines set by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at all times.
  • Adhere to FCA best practices around financial promotions.
  • Maintain and update the Group website as and when required.
  • Any tasks that are reasonable and required for business needs.

Essential

  • Understanding and practical use of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn & TikTok.
  • Knowledge of the Meta Ads portal and Business Suite
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • Completed a marketingbased qualification, such as a degree or CIM course.
  • Minimum of 2year experience within a Digital Marketing role or relevant industry specific experience.
