Time Together is a Harrogate based charity that supports disabled and autistic people in the community and in their own homes, with focus on three areas:
Independence - improving existing skills and learning new ones

Health & Well-being - including healthy eating and physical and emotional health

Community Connection - exploring new activities and opportunities


Alongside our one-to-one support we also facilitate a variety of inclusive activity groups, social groups, support groups, and community and fundraising events.

Job Title:
Support Worker (car driver essential)

Reports to:
Time Together CEO (Registered Manager) and Deputy Manager

Hours:
Part Time and Full Time contracts available (from 16 to 40 hours per week)


Salary:
£13 per hour (paid start to finish) including paid breaks*Working Pattern: Various patterns available based on 5 days over 7 (full time) including some evenings and weekends

Based:
In clients' own homes and in the community, in and around Harrogate

Role Summary:

Our Support Workers provide one-to-one support for Time Together's clients in line with the charity's objective to provide personalised, reliable and quality support, enabling our clients to be as independent as possible and to live life well.

This support may be provided in the client's home or in a community setting.


This job description is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and as with all posts they are likely to change as they develop so some flexibility is required.


Principal Responsibilities:
Supporting clients to enhance their independent skills according to identified need as per their support plan.

Promoting leisure and vocational opportunities for clients according to individual skills and preferences.

Encouraging clients to contribute their skills and abilities to their respective communities.

Identifying risks and concerns at our services, reporting these to the Management
Team.

It is ESSENTIAL that you are:
A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with different people using a variety of appropriate methods, including an excellent standard of written and spoken English,

Punctual and reliable with excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail,

Creative with the ability to use your own initiative,

Enthusiastic with a positive attitude towards supporting disabled and autistic people to lead independent and fulfilling lives,

Committed to equity of access and outcomes, including due regard to equality, diversity, dignity, respect, human rights, and working with others to keep vulnerable people safe from abuse and mistreatment,

Committed to anti-discriminatory practice,

Knowledgeable in the principles of Confidentiality and GDPR,

Knowledgeable in the principles of Health and Safety and Risk Assessment,

Understanding of the rights of the people we support,

Able to present well and best represent the charity and its beneficiaries,

Able to deal in a calm and effective manner with challenging circumstances,
Able to report and record accurately,
Able to form and maintain effective professional relationships,

A full clean driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to drive to meet the needs of the business (mileage costs covered),

It is DESIRABLE that you have:
Experience working with disabled or autistic people with support needs with evidence of proactive experience supporting individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives,

An interest in and understanding of autism and learning disabilities,

Knowledge of the social care industry,

An understanding of the charity sector,
An awareness of vulnerable adults and young people's safeguarding issues and legislation,

Level 2 Diploma in Health and So
