Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Team Leadership/Supervision:


  • Oversee the Kitchen Porters (KPs) within CPK to ensure good communication and
  • Lead and organise of the Kitchen Porter within daily CPK operations
  • Work effectively and supportively with Somerset Larder colleagues across the business in the interests of maintaining a professional work environment
  • Communicate professional with team members to ensure achievement of work tasks to quality standards and timeliness
  • Lead team members in day to day attendance, performance standards and conduct/behaviour expectations
  • Participate in recruitment interviews for new team members
  • Support on the job induction planning and training
  • Instruct and guide colleagues on the required food production policies and procedures and Food Safety Quality Manual standards
  • Provide training to colleagues for the safe and proper cleaning of equipment and tools

Operations:


  • Assist the Chef's with cleaning, maintenance of equipment and schedules
  • Organise the cleaning of ancillary equipment to support catering operation, including but not limited to
  • Trailers, Vehicles, Plant and Machinery.
  • Support and organise cleaning, periodic cleaning and deep cleaning as required.
  • Undertake the scheduled audits within CPK, to a high level of accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure all equipment, crockery and cutlery is cleaned as required.
  • Provide support for CPK operating duties e.g. stock take, good receipting.
  • Assist in the delivery of stock including food/provision, checking and accounting for items.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training that may include offsite
  • Organise and carry out activities required by the accredited FSQMS i.e. Cleaning schedule
  • Act as Banksman, and other such job specific operations as required.
  • Carry out projects or other tasks as requested by the CPK Manager and Senior Chef Supervisor

Health, Safety, Environmental and Service:


  • Participate as a HACCP Team member if required
  • Assist with regular scheduled Facilities Management (FM) checks such as Fire Alarm, Fire Extinguisher and First Aid checks
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant H&S legislation, HACCP and Codes of Practice, together with any specific company requirements of key customers.
  • Organise the ordering of all raw materials, packaging, consumables and cleaning chemicals as and when required.
  • Ensure all raw materials and packaging materials are stored in the correct areas of the site.
  • Ensure all waste is removed promptly and placed in the correct waste containers in accordance with site waste management plan.
  • Drive and support Zero Harm Culture.
