Waterdance Limited are looking to appoint a Fleet & Operations Administrator to join our growing team based in Exeter. Waterdance is a family-owned fishing company and is part of the Greendale Group. We have 23 boats based in Devon and Cornwall including beam trawlers, netters and potters. We are a leading UK fishing business delivering top-quality seafood whilst achieving the highest environmental and crew welfare standards.

This role will play a pivotal supporting function to the Waterdance central management team.

This is a varied role, including planned and reactive work in areas including logistics, fleet management, safety and environmental compliance and crewing.

The role suits a pro-active individual with a balance of practical skills and the ability to work with IT and regulatory systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintain the fleet safety management system.
  • Supporting full compliance of onboard vessel records including personnel and health and safety records
  • Involvement with the logístical arrangements for fishing vessels, such as ordering bait, transport and sourcing parts
  • Supporting Head of Fleet Operations and Commercial Director with all matters that relate to compliance for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and Marine Management Organisation
  • Support for Head of Fleet Operations in vessel maintenance planning, including sourcing quotes
  • Coordinate and administer the fishing apprenticeship scheme for Waterdance Ltd
  • Coordinate the recruitment for all UK and international fishing crew
  • Analysis of fishing data to provide information to directors
  • Undertake projects such as contributing to building new vessels and business improvements
  • Operate and maintain the fleet safety management system
