Job Summary

This role will be recruited in anticipation of Contract Award.


The FAS contract will broaden assessment delivery for Maximus from WCA and Specialist Benefits to include PIP (Personal Independence Payments) assessments.

The PIP Operations Manager position will initially support mobilisation of the FAS contract and thenongoing the contract delivery.

The PIP Operations Manager role will initially be responsible for knowledge transfer of the existing PIP contract, support integration of PIP into the operating model and implement service enhancing initiatives; thereafter supportthe Central Operations Team with the ongoing contract delivery.


Salary range:
Non London - £47,000 to £52,000

London - £52,000 to £57,000


Essential Job Duties

  • Lead the knowledge transfer of PIP from current incumbents to Maximus ensuring all elements are documented
  • Implement, with other SMEs, the FAS future operating model for Operational Service Commencement including navigating barriers to delivery
  • Review the Support Centre processes and provide assurance that the PIP delivery model as detailed in the FAS submission meets the service requirement with resource allocated, advise efficiencies as appropriate
  • Work with the Process Design Team to ensure PIP guidance is consistent and documented
  • Act as the primary source of PIP best practice in Maximus advising other Workstreams on PIP process
  • Advise and lead on the PIP elements of the operational initiative solutions as documented in the FAS tender submission
  • Following mobilisation act as the PIP SME in Lot (x) covering Change impacts, process guidance updates, SCP advice, best practice sharing, alignment with SB and WCA SMEs

Education and Experience Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience/knowledge of DWP benefits process and PIP welfare system
  • Minimum 3 years PIP operational experience, including within the last 12 months, and knowledge of both Front of House and Back of House PIP processes
  • Experience of research, validation and assimilating findings into suitably informed proposals
  • Evidenced success working on significant projects
  • A track record of crossfunction collaboration & consultation.
  • Familiarity with process guidance reviews, including ability to identify and impact service requirements and process changes
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering PIP Contractual Performance
