Service Advisor


We have an excellent opportunity available for a motivated Service Advisor to join our team at Hammond Nissan Bury St Edmunds.


As a Hammond Service Advisor, you will provide outstanding customer care and be the vital link between our customers and the workshop.

You will inform and consult on vehicle servicing and keep the customer up to date at every stage whilst answering any questions or queries they may have.

You will also liaise with technicians/workshop control about vehicle statuses and ensure that vehicles will be ready on time. You will also have the ability to give the best advice on our products and services to our customers.


This is a challenging role where customer care always comes first, you'll take the time to talk to people, build a genuine rapport and identify exactly what our customers want and need.


You will be able to establish a clear understanding of any symptom or problem a customer is experiencing with their vehicle and complete details on a job card in order for a Technician to carry out an informed diagnosis.

To communicate detailed technical messages to customers in such a way that they understand what work is to be undertaken and why.

Ensure that each customer reviews and agrees the items on the job card, and that before leaving they confirm contact details, method of payment and agree an appropriate time for collection of the vehicle.

To define the customer needs for mobility whilst their vehicle is with the workshop and organise the appropriate while you wait service, loan/courtesy car or other means of transportation that meets those needs.

To liaise with customers, Technicians and Workshop Control, whilst vehicles are in the workshop to update on any additional work required, providing an estimate of costs involved to the customer, maximising every opportunity to up-sell.

  • Holiday Entitlement 22 days inc. bank holidays
  • 1 in 3 Saturday's 8am12pm
  • Working hours are 8am5.30pm Monday to Friday
