Monday - Friday / 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (1 hour lunch)

37.5 Hours Per Week

£21,000 - £24,000 Per Annum

Our client is currently looking to appoint an Administrator to join the transport desk at their warehouse, reporting directly to the Transport Manager.

Our client works out of a warehouse which is approximately a 240,000 square ft. employing over 30 people to provide excellent distribution service to stakeholders and metal stockholding customers. Their aim is to be the lowest cost service provider to our stakeholder customers, whilst offering excellent customer service.


The Transport Office is a key part of the operation, delivering to Stakeholder customers while supporting the demands of The Metal Centre loading program.

You will be expected to deal in an appropriate manner with all duties, also liaising face to face with driving staff, and deal with internal and external customer enquiries in a polite and professional manner at all times, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

The person appointed will take on daily responsibility in managing all admin systems, working with various software programs including Microsoft office and producing scheduled reports for the Transport Manager.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills along with experience of working in a busy office environment, with the ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Checking, issuing, and filing transport paperwork
  • Proactively communicate any potential service issues both internally and externally
  • Call handling along with all elements of customer service
  • Continually develop your personal skills and knowledge to improve the effectiveness of your role
  • Interaction with all team members
  • Experience of working within a busy office environment
  • Experience of working in a Customer Service based office position
  • The ability to work within a small team be flexible in approach and driven to providing excellent customer service
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office systems
  • Must be selfmotivated, accurate and able to multitask
  • A positive work ethic, with an ability to work on your own or as part of a team
  • Your working hours will be 08:00am to 16:30pm from Monday to Friday, including a onehour unpaid lunch breakansport
