SECTION - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The ATR Admin Support is to collect and open the post, giving all results to the ATR Tracker and the rest of the post to the Medical Secretaries.

Review the secretarial ATR checklists and add an ATR access plan for those patients who have had tests requested, following the right process.

Appropriate use of relevant IT systems, e.g. Lorenzo.

Assists the team to maintain good office systems and practices. Assists the team to maintain stationery stock control for the department. Respond appropriately and effectively redirecting enquiries from patients, hospital staff, GPs and others by telephone and letter.

To arrange clinic appointments as required Close co-operation and flexible working practices with the team and other departments across the organisation.


To respond and embrace requirements to change in working practice due to service developments and on occasions work in other areas from your base area.

Using own judgment to prioritise tasks allocated by line managers. Assist in training and induction of new starters. Any other duties commensurate with the role and in line with the requirements of the post.


SECTION - KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Good communication skills are essential when dealing with internal and external contacts both verbally and face to face.

Telephone enquiries must be dealt with professionally always adhering to Trust policy. Good keyboard skills are required for inputting and amending patient information onto the Lorenzo system, thus ensuring Data Quality. Training of new staff, bank staff, and work experience trainees etc.

SECTION - EFFORT AND ENVIRONMENT To regularly move quantities of case notes between locations, using a trolley To use a PC for different periods of time daily Combination of sitting, walking, standing and manual handling Concentration on telephone enquiries in relation to inter departmental request Concentration on taking telephone enquires that complex or potentially distressing and relay messages for others in the department
