General Tearooms Assistant


Aberglasney Gardens has a busy Tearoom open 7 days a week serving fresh cooked-to order breakfasts, light lunches, Sunday lunches, Afternoon Tea and home baked treats.


We can seat up to 60 inside our beautiful stone built Tearoom and have additional seating outside on our pool side Garden terrace.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our front of house team. The role will be on a casual basis and may lead on to permanent employment.

We are currently looking to recruit weekend only staff, and also those who are also able to work during the weekdays too.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • The daytoday service duties of The Tearooms. This includes using the EPOS till system, service of food and drinks, general cleaning and preparation of hot drinks and Cakes
  • Being knowledgeable about the menu and aware of allergens
  • To be able to work with a small fast paced team in a highpressured environment
  • Maintain a clean environment and ensure compliance with all Health and Hygiene regulations
  • Make sure relevant records are current and up to date
  • Have experience of working in the hospitality and food sector
  • Be warm, friendly, and courteous to our customers. Therefore, excellent customer service skills are a must
  • A minimum of Level 2 food hygiene certificate (this can be done prior to employment)
  • Have reliable access to own car or transport due to remote location of the Tearoom
  • Be flexible with working days. There are no split shifts and on very rare occasions we may require evening work. An ability to work weekends is a must we work on a fair share of weekend shifts to ensure that all staff get equal weekends off
  • Currently working winter hours: open between 10.30am 3.30pm and shifts allow for time before to prepare and time after closing for a full and thorough clean down for the next day. (Summer hours change with the clocks and will be 10am 5pm) Open 364 days a year.

Salary:
Age dependant, but starts at the following hourly rates:
Under 18 £6.50 (must be a minimum of 16)

1- 20

  • 7.50
£8.50

23 & over £9.50
