The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1952, it has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline.

General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession.

It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.


Experienced in providing high level and complex administrative support, applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under their own initiative, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Experience of diary management, drafting and dealing with correspondence and personal, confidential and sensitive information is essential. Knowledge of working in NHS or other health related or membership organisations is desirable.


Key tasks will include diary management of internal and external meetings, travel arrangements, correspondence and general administrative support, organising meetings, agenda setting, minute taking and action follow-up as well as ensuring that the College's health and safety regulations for the Wales office are kept under review and that any outstanding actions are followed up in a timely manner.


This role will involve hybrid working with a minimum of two working days in the Cardiff office in Cardiff Bay.

We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday.
