DMUsport has developed greatly in the short time since its inception in 2016.

As part of the Estates Directorate, the aims are to enable opportunities that empower students and provide high quality student experiences.

Role

The role of Sport Communications & Workforce Officer will join our team with the purpose of working with DMUsport Club committees, DMU activators, sport coaches and colleagues throughout the university and Students' Union to facilitate an inclusive environmentto provide sport and physical activity opportunities to DMU students.

The role will empower DMU student leaders to reach their potential developing appropriate training and support structures to develop life skills to enhance their employability upon graduation.

You will also raise the profile of sport across the Universitythrough marketing and communication strategies for the department.

This role will work with all colleagues across the department throughout the academic year as the operational lead of DMUsport marketing and communications, as well as enhancing the offer providedto our student leaders across all programmes.

This will be underpinned by considerable collaborative working, adherence to relevant health and safety policies and development of processes and systems to support delivery.

The position is on a full time (37 hours per week), permanent basis.

To be successful, you will be passionate about the wider benefits of sport and physical activity to participants and communities, with substantial experience of using a wide variety of media types and engaging with a range of audiences and stakeholders tosupport and empower a student workforce.

A creative team player, who is an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail in a student-facing role. You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and demonstrate direct impact on the student experience.
