Joining the Human Resources team at EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute, you'll have the opportunity to support scientists around the world, improve biodiversity in the face of climate change and make discoveries leading to improved human health.


2024 is an exciting time for our HR team as we work to implement a new ERP system across EMBL's 6 sites.

Delivering modern HR practices with and increased efficiencies will enable the team to focus on what matters most, our people.


During this busy time we have an opportunity for HR - Recruitment Intern to join the Recruitment team in Hinxton for a period of 12 months.


This opportunity would suit a recent graduate or someone studying a HR degree who is interested in gaining experience in talent acquisition and is excited by the challenge of providing an excellent service in a stimulating international environment.

Your role


Reporting to the HR Recruitment Lead, you will support our Recruitment Partners with a range of administrative tasks leading to the delivery of an end-to-end in-house talent acquisition process.

During your internship you will gain experience and be responsible for a range of talent acquisition processes including:
Maintenance of job openings in our online recruitment platform
Preparation of vacancy notices and targeted advertisements of job vacancies
Organising remote and on-site interviews with the possibility of participation in interviews
Liaising with hiring teams to finalise and confirm interview schedules
Social media marketing for vacancies and targeted recruitment messaging
Performing standard administrative tasks
You have

A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.


You should have analytical and evaluative skills and be able to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

You will also need to have strong organisational and communication skills, reliability as well as the ability to plan and prioritise your work

Excellent written and verbal english language skills are also essential.

You might also have

Experience using an ATS (Applicant Tracking System)
Experience gained in administration or a HR environment

This position is a 12 month internship.

We would ideally like to hire someone full time, but also welcome applicants looking for part time hours to suit study requirements.
