Company Accountant

Manchester, City Centre

£35,000 - £40,000


This dynamic and rapidly expanding retail business is currently seeking an experienced Company Accountant to oversee the finance function and report to both the Managing Director and external accountant.


This is the perfect role for an accomplished accountant who is looking for the next step in their career, working within a well-established company who are growing within the market.


The MD will give you freedom and autonomy, and will trust you to manage the company finances whilst still being able to put your own stamp on the role.


This position will be exciting; the company is cash rich so instead of the usual cash flow struggles of an SME your role will be to support in ensuring the money is spent in the right places and at the right time, to optimise profits and sales.


Although there are some financial processes in place you will be able to mould these in your style, allowing you to have a real sense of ownerships of the finance function.


Your daily duties will include:

  • Providing commentary and analysis for the Managing Director
  • Supporting month end & management accounts
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow report
  • Bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly management information

Ideally you will demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience as a Company Accountant (or similar role)
  • Strong accounting software & working knowledge with Microsoft Excel
  • The ability to use your own initiative to carry out daily duties accurately
  • The capability to work towards strict deadlines both individually but as team
