Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT 3) - Part Time 22.5 hours per week

This is a fixed-term post for 12months.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planned Care team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC).


We currently have an opportunity for a fixed-term role as a part-time Band 4 PPC at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT), which provides a first-class, efficient, pro-active and patient-focused admin service.


Initially this role will be based the Colorectal Surgery Team in CAT 3 with the ability to move across the multiple specialties that fall under this remit as service needs require.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the Colorectal Surgery team.


You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast-paced environment and have excellent IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure.


You will be responsible and accountable for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users.

The role will provide comprehensive administrative support to CAT 3 together with Colorectal Surgery Department and Clinicians.


As part of this role you may be called upon to assist the other specialties within CAT 3; Breast Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery depending on service needs.


You will support the CAT in the delivery of a patient focused service, and be responsible for the processing of general admin duties, answering the telephones to patients, other healthcare providers and internal staff, scheduling of appointments, processing of clinic letters and other administrative duties.


This post requires previous experience of delivering high levels of customer/patient service, working within an administrative environment, preferable experience within the NHS but not essential, using multiple computer systems and managing data (electronic and paper based).

Knowledge of the 18 week pathway would also be beneficial.

Full compliance with local procedures, deadlines and best practice will be a key part of the role.
