The role:
A senior role within the Technical Department - reporting to and working alongside the Head of Architecture, responsible for designing and delivering the technical architecture for our cloud-based SaaS solution.
- RespDevise and evolve cloudbased scalable multitenancy architectures
- Provide technical direction and lead a group of one or more architects and/or developers to address a goal across multiple workstreams
- Architect and design solutions to meet functional and nonfunctional requirements
- Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts
- Evangelise reuse through implementation of shared assets
- Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global productspecific guidelines, usability design standards, etc
- Proactively provide guidance on engineering methodologies, standards, and leading practices
- Provide insight and direction on roles and responsibilities required for solution operations
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full life cycle
- Consideration of the art of the possible, comparing various architectural options based on feasibility and impact, and proposing actionable plans
- Ability to analyse and operate at various levels of abstraction
- Ability to balance what is strategically right with what is realistic
- Work with and advise the CTO to define the technical direction of the business, to continually improve environments, process, code quality, maintainability, and performance to ensure that salesi continues to grow market share and is seen as a benchmarkfor stability and performance in the sector
- Work with the Technical Operations Manager to ensure a contiguous approach to quality and availability
Technical Skills:
- Leadership skills be able to inspire others and persuade
- Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of futureproof, complex global solutions
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills that are required to operate as a leading member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions
- Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organisational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team
- Familiar with solution implementation/management, service/operations management, etc
- Delivery of enterprise technical architecture design, utilising the most appropriate technologies
- Solid working knowledge and demonstrable experience of working in an Agile environment is critical, along with the ability to manage their own (and on occasion others) work across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Experience with concurrent / multithreaded programming languages e.g., Golang, C, C++
- Experience of modern API design and APIfirst development
- Knowledge and demonstrable realworld experience of designing and deploying multitenant, scalable cloudbased architectures, ideally within the Microsoft Azure environment but AWS also considered
- Expert knowledge of agile software engineering processes, practices, and tools; TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery etc
- Experience working with both onshore and offshore development teams
- Excellent leadership, organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, Agile software design principles and build processes.
- They must be able to build relationships with technical and nontechnical colleagues and customers and have demonstrable experience of positively motivating a technical team, all whilst working in a fastpaced environment
- The need to be highly organised, responsible, and dependable is essential, with a natural ability to collaborate and work well with others. Strong negotiation skills are critical
