Job Purpose

To support the implementation of the World Class Programme (WCP) through the coordination and support of key areas that underpin the Performance Directorate's activities, ultimately contributing to the success of the teams

Key Responsibilities


GBRT Teamwear

  • Work to propose, develop and deliver a teamwear range against an agreed budget for the Performance Directorate.
  • Coordinate a suitable consultation process which involves athletes and staff
  • Coordinate associated sampling and feedback requirements prior to preparing, submitting and processing orders and deliveries
  • Develop and maintain accurate sizing and stock management data, ensuring all teamwear purchases are added to this.
  • Coordinate kit distribution

Resources Support

  • Assist with scoping the specifications for purchases and projects
  • Assist with the sourcing and assessment of potential suppliers
  • Assist in preparing invitations for tender and quotation and assist in evaluating these to ensure optimum value for money
  • Coordinate orders, and where relevant contracts, for equipment, supplies and services
  • Validate purchase invoices for authorisation
  • Maintain the master inventory of all GB Rowing Team (GBRT) assets including administration of values and sold items and the addition of capital purchases
  • Generate personal inventories for staff on an annual basis from the master inventory
  • Coordinate GBRT resource related insurance claims

Operational Support to GBRT Sport Science and Sports Medicine

  • Assist with equipment and supply orders and servicing, including assistance in maintaining the equipment and performance support (SSSM) inventory
  • Assist with the stock check and ordering of consumables for medical and SSSM practices
  • Provide support for, and coordination of, medical administration practices
  • Assist with the coordination of the Performance Support Rota
  • Coordinate and maintain athlete medical records (e.g. PDMS uploads for immunisations, blood tests)
  • Maintain the GBRT Medicine Policy
  • Coordinate Medical Exemptions relating to the Selection Trial Process

Role Specific Training Requirements

  • Coordinate rolespecific training requirements:
a. Maintain and coordinate mandatory Health & Safety training requirements (e.g. COSHH, Food Safety, Fire Warden, First Aid in the Workplace, Basic Life Support)

b. Coordinate the annual Drivers' Authorisation process and any necessary trailer driving courses


Other

  • Work as part of the team with other Performance Programme Coordinators and Managers to ensure Programme Support across all areas is delivered effectively.
General Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to design, deliver and continuously evolve the systems and processes required to implement and deliver the WCP the 'Performance Programme Standard Operating Procedures'
  • Attend meetings relevant to the role as necessary
  • Contribute to the annual performance review, including the production of regular reports as required
  • Present a positive image of British Rowing to stakeholders in any media context and supporting publicly the National Lottery and British Rowing sponsors. The postholder should wear Team clothing as appropriate
  • Follow the British Rowing Policies and Procedures and ensure that these are understood and followed by any staff and/or athletes for whom the postholder is responsible. Special attention should be given to policies on Clean Sport (including use of supplements), Water Safety and where appropriate, Child Protection.

Essential:


  • Proven track record in an operations or administration role
  • Logical and analytical with a systematic approach to achieving tasks by being methodical and thorough with an eye for detail


  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Able to maintain an assertive but friendly and diplomatic manner when dealing with external and internal contacts and to remain calm and good humoured in all situations.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Confident and competent word processing and spreadsheet skills
  • Skilled at working independently and as part of a team
  • A cando attitude and proactive approach to take on new challenges
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when required

Desirable:


  • Working knowledge of Google G Suite
  • A keen interest in sport
Additional Information


Hours The post-holder's hours will be flexible to reflect the needs of the role and, while maintaining an appropriate work/life balance, will include time in evenings, at weekends and over public holidays. Standard working hours are 40
