Polkemmet Childcare is a private nursery with its roots in Polkemmet Country Park, just off the Heartlands Junction (4a) M8, where children are nurtured through Nature.

We are a 30 place nursery and offer child care from birth to those not yet attending primary school. We have three age groups Ladybirds - under 2, Bumble Bees - 2-3 and Squirrels 3 to starting school.

Polkemmet Childcare offers the best of both worlds, providing indoor and outdoor learning opportunities where children build exceptional childhood memories, through the 4 dimensions of the provision.

The service focuses on outdoor learning which benefits the children from all that nature has to offer in the space and freedom of the 168 acres of the park.

The outdoor environment offers young children essential experiences vital to their well-being, health and development in all areas.

Outdoor learning where children have the freedom to explore different ways of being, feeling, behaving and interacting; they have SPACE - physical, mental and emotional; they have room and permission to be active, interactive, messy, noisy and work on a large scale.

Polkemmet Childcare aims to promote the holistic development of all children, Fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.

Throughout the day children are able to run, jump, balance and climb. We encourage the children to explore, be creative and take managed risks.

They are able to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature and use all their senses as they experience the different textures of the earth and the sounds of the leaves rustling in the trees.

We are proud to support our staff team in the best way we can. We recognise the importance of their wellbeing and promote this throughout the setting. We also ensure that training opportunities are provided and are individualised to the needs and aspirations o the individual.
