We are looking for a well motivated, enthusiastic individual who can demonstrate relevant experience within an industrial maintenance role.A strong background in operating and working with mechanical plant and equipment, a clean driving licence and IT literacy is also essential.
You will be required to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, so strong decision-making skills, a flexible approach and a helpful attitude are all prerequisites.
As part of the Buoy Yard team in Swansea, you will be required to assist with the maintenance and refurbishment of buoyage and other aids to navigation; carrying out a wide range of duties keeping our Buoy Yard running smoothly, efficiently and safely.
Tasks will include water jetting; grit blasting; painting; crane work; general labouring; driving and other similar duties as and when required.
Occasionally, there will be the opportunity to assist as part of a team on remote Lighthouses around the coast. This may entail working outside of normal hours and short periods away from home. Appropriate compensation will be payable. Some duties will involve working in confined spaces and at heights, with the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Full training will be given for all the elements of this position and you will be required to pass and maintain relevant qualifications, including fork lift driving and working at heights.
