Job overview:
The nationally renowned Dermatology Centre at Salford care Organisation at NCA provides specialist services for Greater Manchester and a number of supra-regional services.
We are looking to recruit a tAPC Paediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Paediatric Dermatology team, a highly motivated dynamic nurse, with relevant knowledge and experience to care and support patients and their families from assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of dermatological conditions.
You will have current NMC registration, registered children's nurse with at least 5 years post registration experience, 3 years in an acute setting and preferably with 2 years within dermatology.
Previous Dermatology nursing experience is highly desirable, though not essential. Ideally you will be a registered non-medical prescriber, The V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification will be within the advanced practice course
A comprehensive training and competency assessment programme under the supervision of our Consultant and Specialist Nurses exists alongside the advanced practice course.
Main duties of the job:
This post will allow you to learn and develop within the field of paediatric dermatology. We are a hard working and welcoming team committed to the treatment of skin disease in children.
You will also be required to undertake clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, prescribing drug monitoring/education clinics for patients on systemic/biologic therapies for a variety of inflammatory skin conditions.

Essential criteria:
- Current NMC Registration
- Degree Masters or Equivalent Portfolio of evidence
- Five years post registration experience within nursing of which 3 years' experience are within an acute hospital setting at a senior level preferably within the Paediatric Dermatology setting.
- Evidence of leading policy and practice change in line with Quality Improvement Programmes
- Experience and Evidence in delivering education at all levels.
- Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical leadership and knowledge supplemented by specialist clinical training and CPD
- Effective communicator able to communicate complex and highly sensitive information
- Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the Trust clinical governance objectives
Desirable criteria:
- Evidence of proactive involvement in the mentorship and development of nurses and nursing practice
- Experience in the clinical and practical aspects of Paediatric Dermatology
- Post basic qualification in specialty (Paediatric Dermatology Medicine)
- Supplementary and extended prescriber (complete with 12 months of commencing post) NMP
